JMK was tasked with assessing teacher attendance-related issues, including teacher time on task and level of supervision of teacher activities in schools; and the difference in the distribution and utilization of the capitation grant between GPEG grant beneficiary and non-GPE grant schools, payment of fees, etc.

 

KEY OUTPUTS AT-A-GLANCE

In undertaking this assignment, JMK:

1.       Developed data collection tools.

2.      Set up an electronic data capture (EDC) system using the CS-Pro software, which allowed Android smartphones to collect and transmit data electronically to the data server.

3.      Developed enumerator guidelines and training manuals to ensure efficient data collection and quality assurance with data collected.

4.      Conducted 4-day training which involved all enumerator and supervisors involved in the study

5.      Collected 388 school surveys with 388 headteachers, 776 teachers and 39 district education officials.

6.      Carried out data analysis and presentation of findings in data visualizations, and a formal written narrative report.
