JMK consulting was tasked by Technoserve to conduct an end market assessment of the above commodities to lay out the roadmap for systematic targeting and winning 5,000 SME owners to access premium and more sustainable structured markets for rice, maize, soya bean, sorghum, and cowpea. JMK identified the key stakeholders, their roles, activities, relationships with other stakeholders, and effectiveness gaps. JMK constructed the maize, cowpea, soy, and sorghum value chain through a participatory process that identifies all relevant chain links (elements, stages/functions of the charcoal production, marketing, transport, consumption, etc.) and corresponding categories of stakeholders.

 

KEY OUTPUTS AT-A-GLANCE

In undertaking this assignment, JMK:

a) Designed data collection tools and designed data collection forms using CS-Pro.

b) Developed data collection guidelines and training manuals to ensure efficient data collection and quality assurance with data collected.

c) Conducted a pre-test of the questionnaire and made adjustments to phrasing and terminology as needed.

d) Collected data from 517 value chain actors across Ghana.

e) Produced assessment report
