Due to paucity of data on government, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), cocoa companies, and other stakeholders implementing or providing social services in cocoa-growing districts, JMK was engaged by International Cocoa Initiative to developed an interactive platform of government and non-governmental institutions providing social services or implementing social interventions in cocoa-growing districts aimed at identifying, protecting, preventing, remediating and referring (child labour cases or children at risk of the worst form of child labour (WFCL) and/or forced labour or child abuse or found in other forms of exploitation; and vulnerable adults found in forced labour or at risk of forced labour including discrimination and trafficking) by identifying their services or intervention areas, and technical, technical capacity, financial and administrative capacity to deliver services; and developing and operationalizing an interactive map (with geocoordinates) of protection services and institutions providing the identified services or interventions.

KEY OUTPUTS AT-A-GLANCE

In undertaking this assignment, JMK:

a) Conducted desk assessment/ consultation of of similar activities (mapping of social services on child labour and forced labour) already carried out inGhana

b) Mapped all social services and institutions providing preventive an protective actions toward elimination of children from WCFL, forced labourand other abuses in all administrative cocoa districts

c) Mapped referral and care services for children engaged in WFCL, vulnerable people at risk of forced labour and other abuses in all administrative cocoa districts

d) Generated interactive map (with detail GPS coordinates) of the services identified

e) Generated report and directory of all the services providers identified, including their operational capacity in terms of referral and effective care for children engaged in WFCL or children at risk, and vulnerable people at risk of forced labour including mapping details.
