As part of multiple levels of support provided to CoEs, Transforming Teacher Education and Learning (T-TEL) launched a Challenge Fund, to promote innovative practices in teaching, learning and management practices in CoEs. Drawing from international experience, the Challenge Fund specifically looks to identify and nurture new ways of improving the quality of pre-service teacher education in colleges, especially for female student teachers. Under the challenge fund program, T-TEL gave 20 CoEs that intend to initate innovations in teacher education. 

DELIVERY OF M&E TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO 20 COLLEGES OF EDUCATION UNDER THE TRANSFORMING EDUCATION AND LEARNING CHALLENGE FUND PROJECT

As part of multiple levels of support provided to CoEs, Transforming Teacher Education and Learning (T-TEL) launched a Challenge Fund, to promote innovative practices in teaching, learning and management practices in CoEs. Drawing from international experience, the Challenge Fund specifically looks to identify and nurture new ways of improving the quality of pre-service teacher education in colleges, especially for female student teachers. Under the challenge fund program, T-Tel gave 20 CoEs that intend to initate innovations in teacher education. JMK was engaged to develop M&E systems for the 20 CoEs. The M&E system will be designed to support programme monitoring, evaluation, learning and information sharing about the periodic implementation status as well as outputs and outcomes of the programme in relation to the T-TEl programme’s Results Framework and Theory of Change.

 

 

KEY OUTPUTS AT-A-GLANCE

In undertaking this assignment, JMK:

a) Reviewed their projects and, assisted them to clarify the project theory of change/design; and supported CoEs in identifying areas for improvement and make necessary revisions in line with good practices in M&E to enable them to develop/revise their RFs, activity plans and PMPs appropriately.

b) Developed an M&E Framework

c) Created an M&E system to collect, analyze and disseminate data for the fund and value chain actors

d) Developed data collection tools to be used for field data collection

e) Developed an end-of-assignment report containing any lessons learned in terms of follow up capacity building for the COEs.
