Tensui Rice Project, funded through JICA, sought to increase domestic rice production in more equitable agriculture systems at scale. JICA hoped to continue the Tensui Rice Project undertaken in Phase I to serve as an effective Programming platform to achieve impact at scale for prioritized segments of rice stakeholders. JICA designed and is supporting the implementation of Phase II of the Tensui Rice Project. The project sought to identify the current status of rice production and marketing in Ashanti and Northern regions with consideration of gender aspects.

 

KEY OUTPUTS AT-A-GLANCE

In undertaking this assignment, JMK:

a) Designed questionnaires and interview guides.

b) Designed electronic data collection forms using ODK.

c) Developed data collection guidelines and training manuals to ensure efficient data collection and quality assurance with data collected.

d) Recruited, trained and managed a team of 14 interviewers and 2 supervisors.

e) Collect 707 quantitative data from rice farmers and their households, 70 extension officers at the Department of Agriculture in the MMDAs, 100 rice processors, 86 rice distributors/marketers, 102 input dealers and 20 mechanisation service providers

f) Produced a baseline survey report
