Fhi360 contracted JMK to conduct the Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) for the USAID Partnership for Education: Learning Transition to English (T2E) program. T2E was implemented in 230 schools selected from 10 regions covering both public and private schools. Key Outputs At-a-Glance:

In undertaking this assignment, JMK:

  1. Reviewed the T2E Early Grade Reading Assessment materials and prepare appropriate training materials.

  2. Recruited 60 skilled enumerators and 12 supervisors who are fluent in reading and speaking the 11 Ghanaian languages of instruction and have prior experience administering EGRA

  3. Trained the enumerators and supervisors

  4. Conducted field testing during the training.

  5. Conducted 2,450 EGRA assessment and 200 classroom observation

  6. Conducted interviews with 130 headteachers

  7. Carried out data analysis and presentation of findings in various formats, including a slide deck, four-page handout summaries with data visualizations, and a formal written narrative report.
